PROFILE
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
El Paraiso
The community “Mata de Plátano” was the first hamlet to become properly founded in the region and produces the most coffee in the municipality. It is surrounded by protected reserve called El Chile, a vast mountain range which provides high altitudes, rich soils and unique climate conditions.
Selected growers from Mata de Platano, El Chile, Moroceli participated in this lot. Most of the farms are only 3 to 4 hectares, with plantain and cedar trees used for shade. All the coffee is handpicked, washed then sundried.
The farms are receive assistance from our Volcafe Way field technicians. These are experienced and passionate individuals who work with growers they believe have the potential to produce specialty coffee. The technicians are agricultural specialists who work closely with the growers, sharing knowledge and advice. Their aim is simple, to help the growers grow, harvest and process coffees that deliver on flavour, have a higher yield and better return.
