About the producer
Dampit Robusta Producers
Our AP-1 Robusta comes from the Dampit region in the Malang regency, located on the slopes of Mount Semerau. Coffee is grown on small farms, ranging from 3 – 4 hectares and up to 5000 of these farms in the area cultivate this high quality bean. The volcanic Andosol and the mineral rich Latasol soils combined with the 1000 – 5000mm annual rainfall make ideal coffee growing conditions.
The AP refers to ‘After Polish’ – an additional process to remove silverskin that results in less chaff during roasting and a cleaner cup. The coffee is classified as Grade 1 putting in the Fine coffee range. The careful prep, ideal growing conditions give a coffee that has medium body, low astringency and clean taste profile.
