About the producer
Indonesian Small Holder Farmers
This coffee is grown on the island of Sumatra by small holder farmers. Drying coffee in a mountainous climate where rainfall is frequent and unpredictable made farmers develop their own unique way for processing coffee known as the ‘giling basa’ method. This is a method where the cherries are hulled, then left to ferment in sacks for 12 hours. After this fermentation process, the parchment is slightly dried, hulled and taken to processors in Medan for final drying and grading,
