Coffee growing was occurring around the Boquete area by the early 20th century. This area delivers the highest quality crop in the country and is also one of the most highly priced coffees in the world.
Coffee from Panama is well known for its specialty coffees, in particular, the Geisha variety which is highly sought after internationally. Some larger estates dedicate their land to Geisha production and hold global auctions to sell their coffee.
Panama continues to produce some of the most sought after coffees in the world. It's coffee has superb complexity and character and highly are aromatic.
